The Song Thrush

Like the Blackbird, the Song Thrush is a common bird in towns and gardens. It has a lovely song, too but while the Blackbird does not sing for very long in the year, The Song Thrush sings in almost every month It likes to get on to a high post or tall tree to sing in the evening.
The egg color is so brilliant and love the black speckles.
Enjoy using this bird, in your art work.

Sky the Tree Spirit

This is one of the tiny Tree Spirits that protects our trees, I was reminded of Tree Spirits or Pixie's from my daughter. When she was little and she attend her Brownies group. The girls earned merit badges with theme's of the different Spirits. I thought the idea of the little Spirits was darling and such fun make believe.
This is Art Doll # 2, for my doll swap. I named him Sky because of his crown, it has the stars in the sky. I create this little crown because I am also fascinated with the constellations.
I brighten and colored him with my water color pencils. I added more detail to his face and used ink to make him stand out more. I love altering the colors with watercolor pencils, makes it feel more your own creation.
Enjoy your day.

The Rose of Spring

The glue is not even totally dry on this this Art Paper Doll, I wanted to share her with you. I found the old lace attached to her skirt at our local Antique market the other day. It really adds that vintage look , I was after. The stamped doll image is from Character Constructions. She looked very mechanical, so I added a clock gear over her eye. I thought the clock gear completed her vintage meets funky appearence.
Have a great day.

The Jay

The Jay, as you can see, is a very beautiful bird.
Jays live in woods as a rule, but a few come into parks and gardens in towns.Their voices are not nearly so beautiful as their feathers-being just a loud scream-and as soon as you go into the woods where Jays live, they screech at you, warning all the other birds you are coming.
In fact Jays are not nearly so nice as they look, for they steal other birds eggs, and sometimes kill and eat little birds as well.
Jay are also very fond of green peas.
I wanted to share this picture with you, I love birds in my art.

I have two Bengal cats now, I enjoy them so much. Except one of the cats wants me up sometimes at 4:00 a.m., that does not thrill me.LOL I will show Sparkles completed, very soon .

The expressions on these three scruffy dogs faces, is just priceless. I went on my once a week treasure hunt at our local Antique Market. I found this old postcard, the vendor said it was from 1910. I immediately had a creative idea jump in my brain. LOL. I got all excited the thoughts of the three sad dogs with Artchix's party hats on. I can't wait to do something with these adorable puppies. They just look like they need lots of TLC, they will just love party hats. LOL.

Tulipa the Nature Fairy

All the lovely flowers are blooming and the birds are singing in the garden. You can hear the baby birds in their nests, carefully created by mother bird. I am fascinated by the work the mother birds puts into the buiding of their nest, they are a tiny work of art.
I could not fit all this paper doll image on the scanner properly, part of the blooming tulip bulb is missing on her head.
The doll parts are from Catherine Moore's Character Constructions Stamp Collection, the most awesome clear stamps.
Happy Creating.

Outburst of Feeling

We all have a strong passion for our art creating, this journal page gives that message. The Creativity Fairy is saying anytime is a good time to create art. I used a Teesha Moore collage sheet to create this colorful Journal page. I love using Teesha's collage sheets, they are so "out of the box" fun.
Make a goal, to try something different in your art.

The Green Woodpecker

Country people often call the Green Woodpecker the "yaffle" because of its call, which is like a laugh. It is a fine, big bird, and often comes on to garden lawns to dig for ants. The Woodpecker is one of my favorite birds, I wanted to share with you.
