She Makes Today Count

Birds, Paris, butterflies and fashion is what I added to create this journal page. What a dream some day to walk the streets of Paris, can you imagination ? I love the episode where Carrie Bradshaw from the Sexy in the city series, lives her dream. Except she steps in a big horse patty in the streets of Paris, making Carrie's dream moment come true. LOL
I used napkins, watercolor paints, gesso,a vintage image and gel medium to create this page. I tried to make the fashion Diva look vintage, with dull colors. I think this journal page makes a statement for all of us artists, who love creating art.
Make every day count.

Handmade Art

I have not had a lot of extra time, for creating art lately. I took some time last night to create this Art Paper Doll. I got the idea to make her stocking a brick pattern because she has a house on her head. LOL. I truly enjoy letting my imagination run away, when creating any art piece.
That is the magic of art in my opinion and why I love it so very much.
The main doll part are from my favorite, Catherine Moore's Character Constructions.
Happy Tuesday.

Embracing Encaustic

I have received some question about Encaustic medium, since posting about my Andrea Bird class. This is the book Embracing Encaustic , I purchased from Andrea. It is a wonderful book and will answer all your question about Encaustic medium.
I was away this previous weekend and this is a picture my daughter Brit had taken of us. It was the most beautiful fall day, here in Ontario. The tree in the background is outside my back door, I love the color it becomes this time of year.
Happy Creating.

Encaustic Collage Weekend Getaway

I wanted to share my weekend away with my very dear friend, Heather Robinson.
The both us attended a Encaustic Collage weekend class. We left last Friday and returned on the Sunday night. The amazing teacher that offered the class was Andrea Bird. I learned so much from Andrea and I would strongly recommend this "fabulous" class. I loved beeswax's before but now just crazy over Encaustic meduim. The class was just a nice size, not too many students. We loved the Southhampton Art School, really a pleasure. These are all the art piece's I created while taking Andrea's class. I have never had such fun, loved every moment. I was scared of the blow torch at first but quickly got over that fear. Heather and I made the best memories. I will cherish every "awesome" moment together. I had to pinch myself, I had such a marvelous time.

Spells And Potions

Yesterday was a beautiful day and it felt like the Fall season had arrived. I found myself thinking of Halloween, it will be here before we know it. This is where my inspiration came from, to create this Spells & Potions Art Paper Doll last night. I truly enjoy everything about Halloween, it is such a colorful occasion. I do miss dressing my kids up in their costumes, they are too old now.
The doll parts are from Character Constructions, except the parasol image. I found the parasol image in an old book. The wings are from Stampers Anonymous, I love using these funky wings.
Have a great day.

Doing What I Love

Sometimes we get so wrapped in the business of everyday life. The kids, the cooking and cleaning house "etc". I realized that lately, I have got away from what I enjoy the most in creating my art. I truly love creating with Catherine Moore's Character Constructions Stamp collection. I will feel a lot happier, doing the art that is my very favorite!!!! I will never get bored of creating with Character Constructions, Catherine Moore is my favorite artist. She is so full of imagination and also the sweetest person.

So, remember as I am today, do what you have the most passion for in life.
Happy Creating.

Glitz And Glamour

Last night I created this Journal page, it took about 4 hours to complete. I love all the coloring and adding details. I just noticed after uploading the page, I need to outline the images with black pencil crayon. Don't you just love these wonderful quotes, from Artchix.
When I purchase this image, I immediately thought the face looked like someone I knew? I have added a lot more make up then she wears but Butterfly showgirl reminds me of my talented dear friend "Shannon Sawyer". She has such a pretty face, like this showgirl.
I could not fit all the Butterfly showgirl hair on the scanner, some of her big hair is missing. LOL !!! I just love big hair and glamour.
Happy Creating.
