She's So Sharon

"I'll never try to fit in; I was born to stand out"
I chose this quote to define the attitude of this funky gal, she is so quirky.
The head, arms, legs, and coolest shoes are from a collage sheet created by talented Sharon Tomlinson at All Norah's Art blog. Now you can guess why she is called "She's So Sharon".
I colored all the images with my watercolor pencils to match the cupcake colors and inked all the project edges. The arrow on the swan points to her life direction, this gal knows her mind.
I also wanted to share how honoured I am to be Marilyn Rock's featured April Guest Artist on her amazing blog. Thank you Marilyn for such a wonderful opportunity, I am so thankful for your kind friendship.
If you want to take a peek at the Interview there is the link.
Happy creating.

Gothic Arches-Open Theme

Fairy story ... I went into the woods one day and there I walked. When it was dark I could not see, a little creature came to me. She said if I sing a song, she would let me go home.
I really enjoy creating painted backgrounds and then stamping them. You can never guess the magic of the background colors that you will achieve in the end, after the surface is dry. I always have to speed up the drying time using a hair dryer. Creative time is precious, no time to waste. LOL
Happy Creating.
Here is my challenge for Gothic Arches.

Paris Flutterby

"How does one become a butterfly? You must want to fly so much that your are willing to give up being a caterpillar."
I have combined two of my favorite theme's,to create this butterfly art doll. I have not created anything Paris related for awhile and who doesn't admire butterflies. What a fashion Diva she is styling the Eiffel tower upon her tiny head.
Ooh La La ...

I Feel The Enjoyment Of Life

The inspiration for the theme of this art doll comes from all the lovely trees, that grow along our country road. I enjoy looking at them and all the birds on my daily walk. The other elements I have included are just for fun. Perhaps this funky gal is dreaming of "Castles in the sky"? Then watch out !! Her naughty kitty cat is thinking of stealing eggs from the nest upon her head and ending her lovely daydream suddenly.. hahaha Oh her story could go on and on forever...
I just love creating with these striped legged stocking from Character Constructions, they go with every art doll theme.
Wishing you a marvelous weekend.

Purpose And Power

With her arms extended because she is ready to spread her wings. She stands for purpose and power.
It was a bit of a challenge creating this art doll tonight. I used a lot of different stamped images, so lots of cutting. You have to enjoy cutting out stamped images very much to create art dolls. Luckily I love cutting out things, so it is no biggie to me. I really enjoy the story that relates to women's body with wings, on the sunflower of this art dolls body. She is called Chuang -Tzu, she is a Character Constructions art stamp. I would like to share her story with you.
Taoist mythology preserves the story of sage Chuang-Tzu who was unsure whether she was a women who dreamed one night that she was a butterfly, or a butterfly now dreaming it was a women.
I found this story so interesting and what is the answer to her beautiful dream ?
When I looked at the image of Chuang-Tzu the first time. She whispered the thoughts of purpose and power to my mind.
Happy Creating.

I Wish

If you had three wishes, what would they be ?
I was inspired to create a bird themed art doll because of all the birds singing on my daily walk.
It was cold but a lovely day. It makes you walk faster when it is cold. LOL
The arms, legs, and head are from Character Constructions.
Here's wishing you a wonderful day.

Wonderland Aventures

'Drink Me!'
Join 'Gothic' Alice on the biggest adventure of her life as she learns that anything is possible... and dreams really do come true.
Mauve, teal green, and burgandy were the acrylic paint colors I used to created the Gothic Arch background. I then stamped various images with black ink, for a whimsical look. I really enjoy using a white pen in my art work, stands out well.
Since I have seen Tim Burton's Alice in Wonderland, I have been made aware again of my true appreciation of this incredible children's fairytale. I will never grow tired of including Alice in my artwork, so many ideas are in my imagination.
P.S. I had a new art idea for something else to add to Alice, I will re post her later. More to come....
My imagination never stops.
Happy Creating.

She's A Rainbow Of Fruit Flavors

If you want to enjoy the rainbow,be prepared to endure the storm.
This was a fun funky art piece to create tonight, I have not created anything for awhile. I finished creating my odd little bird character, with her long gothic eye lashes. Then showed my finished winged Gothic Arch to my teenage son, to get his reaction. He says what does that mean "She's a rainbow of fruit flavors, I don't get it? I replied that is the whole point of it , it is Zetti art. LOL Anyone that understands and enjoys Zetti style art "gets this piece".
Happy Creating.

Be In A Dream

The best thing about dreams is that fleeting moment you are between sleep and awake, when your don't know the difference between reality and fantasy, when for just one moment your feel your entire soul that the dream's reality, and it really happened.
The theme for this art paper doll was very dreamy. I tried to add different dream elements, to this funky gal. She must release the capture Blue Fairy to make all her dream come true, when she feels it is time .
Don't you find sometimes you get into using colors that work and can't stop using them. lol I am enjoy the cheery color combinations of purple and lime green. The main doll body parts are from Character Constructions, I really like this art stamp face. She looks like she is so distant and in great thought. I used a CC parsol for part of her upper body. The lace I added behind the parsol, made it stand out more. My reasons for adding lace, is it gives a vintage feeling to your art piece.
I can never have enough butterflies in my art work or must have some kind of wings if you notice.
Dream big.

I Enjoy Life's Challenges

Unless a man undertakes more than he possibly can do, he will never do all he can.
This cheery little art paper doll inspiration came from the power of positive thinking.I created her head using a picture frame and it is supported resting on a bird nest. lol I really enjoy using the color combinations of lime green and purple. The art stamps I used to create her are from Character Constructions.
She is ready to take on life's obstacles and grow strength from them.
Happy creating.

Take Time World

Live ... Life .... Well.
I would like, if I may take you on a strange journey.
It is astouding
Time is fleeting
Madness takes it toll
But listen closely...
This colorful journal page I created, there are so many different messages it sends. Does she stay or fly away? It tells you the story how wonderful life can be or is it sometimes? Some days we all wish we had wings.
Happy creating.

Gazing Into My 8-Ball

The beautiful creative mind is so magical.
I am so inspired visiting all my artistic friends blogs. Thank you for sharing a tiny piece of your self with me. I am always learning new mixed media art technique's and it is always surprise what you learn.
I created this Halloween themed art paper doll using Catherine Moore's amazing Character Constructions art collection, for the main body parts. If you want to gaze into this 8-Ball, you will have to remove her bat winged hat first from her head ... Then you will be able to see your answers into the future.
Happy Creating.
Thank you to Stephanie Mealor Corder for featuring my art paper doll on your blog today.

Don't Wake The Sleeping Gryphon

What would you think about having a pet Gryphon, this fairy called "Your Wings" does. She takes her pet Gryphon everywhere she travels. He can fly but when entering into homes to do her fairy duties he goes in his personal pet carrier. You see sometimes different ladies at the mall with their tiny lap dogs in their pet strollers and carrier's. A Gryphon is a creature with the head of an eagle, from the fantasy story "Alice in Wonderland". I have been trying to add something Alice in Wonderland related to my art work, in a count down for the new movie's release coming soon. The main doll parts I used to create this art doll are from amazing Character Constructions.
Not long to see actor Johnny Depp who plays the Mad Hatter, in what will be a huge movie hit.
Happy Creating.
