Come with me where you'll never, never have to worry about grown up things again.....
The inspiration for this art paper doll is being young at heart. It gets "so old" having so much on your mind all the time. It is such a great escape creating artwork and with no rules. Nobody to answer too but your own imagination. This Character Constructions moon face has such endless possibilities in your art work, I use this stamp a lot. I think this is Woman in the moon, instead of the man in the moon. LOL The man in the moon never seems to gets old, don't you agree. I like adding my own twist, that is the magic of creating. There are no rules just do it and be young at heart. Happy Creating.
"Twinkle, twinkle, little bat ! How I wonder what you're at !" 'Up above the world you fly. Like a tea tray in the sky. Twinkle, twinkle. "
Here is another mad tea party inspired Art paper doll from the theme of Alice in Wonderland, I enjoyed creating. I think Alice will work out well as a bookmark for my visual guide book. My imaginations runs away with this fantasy theme, I had to include the Cheshire cat. Next to the Mad Hatter the grinning cat is one of my favorite characters from this magical children's fairytale. I thought the tea cup upon the cat's quirky little head fit his style and Alice more funky with a crab on her head. LOL My husband makes me giggle he says all my art creations come from Laura Land. Happy Creating.
"There was a table set under a tree in front of the house, and the March Hare and the Hatter were having tea at it: a Dormouse was sitting between them, fast asleep, and the other two were using it a as cushion, resting their elbows on it, and talking over its head. Very comfortable said Alice : "only as it's asleep, I suppose it doesn't mind."
This is my second art paper doll I have created inspired by the children's fairytale "Alice in Wonderland" her theme is tea time. She needs to keep an eye on her time. LOL
I have never had the pleasure to sample Lavender tea. So, this is why I picked this favor of tea. I am going to plant some more lavender in my garden this year with the hope of making my own dried lavender blossoms for tea. I was trying to come up with something for on top of her head and the little Character Constructions tea pot was just perfect. Maybe if you close your eyes tightly she will fly by and share a cup of her lavender tea with you. Happy Creating.
Dreams are like stars, you may never touch them, but if you follow them they will lead to your destiny.
One of my dreams came true this week, I got to visit a very dear friend Heather Robinson. We do not live that far apart from each other but life gets so busy. I was inspired by our wonderful visit to create this themed art paper doll. I just love using these Character Constructions Ballet shoes, they add such a whimsical touch.
I also added little hints of Paris, another dream. Better yet dreaming bigger, attending an art workshop in Paris.... What do you think, what a blast that would be !!! LOL
Anyways back from dreamland, hahaha. I had the nicest day with Heather and wanted to share with you. I know a lot of you fellow artists are great friends with Heather. She is such a darling person and so talented. So nice to have a friend that enjoys the same passion for Mixed Media Art.
The artist's coupon I have included, is to make your dreams come true...
You're probably wondering why I have added this spinning copper arrow to this magical Alice themed house bookmark? Alice was not sure what direction her imagination was running off too, can you see her teal green imagination peeking out from behind her ? LOL Perhaps she will meet for a tea party with the Mad Hatter or chase a white rabbit with a pocket watch in his waist coat pocket. This is the magic of dreams, they are all yours. Creating this bookmark was a lot of fun, I enjoyed using Tim Holtz's Distress inks. They add such a vintage feeling to your art work. I will use this bookmark in my vintage version of Alice in Wonderland book.
I have a really old version that includes Peter Pan too, two stories in the one book. I was so pleased the day I found this vintage book. I truly enjoy Children's fairy tales, always a happy ending. Let your imagination soar.
As the story begins .... The best gift you can give your children is "Roots and Wings". I heard this quote on the weekend and really gave me something to think about. I thought to myself what a true statement this is. Great words to grow from, I am always learning as a parent of two teenagers. I didn't have a large egg stamp, so I created my own teal colored egg for her body. I liked how by rubbing off the background surface under the two ravens, created a halo effect. I used a baby wipe to remove the stamped script writing etc. I was inspired to created this art doll after seeing all the different types of chicken eggs at Easter time, that is where my imagination started for this art doll theme. I added lavender lace to her funky bird's nest hat with the idea, she will mysterious. Happy Creating.
