Roots And Wings

As the story begins ....
The best gift you can give your children is "Roots and Wings".
I heard this quote on the weekend and really gave me something to think about. I thought to myself what a true statement this is. Great words to grow from, I am always learning as a parent of two teenagers.
I didn't have a large egg stamp, so I created my own teal colored egg for her body. I liked how by rubbing off the background surface under the two ravens, created a halo effect. I used a baby wipe to remove the stamped script writing etc. I was inspired to created this art doll after seeing all the different types of chicken eggs at Easter time, that is where my imagination started for this art doll theme. I added lavender lace to her funky bird's nest hat with the idea, she will mysterious.
Happy Creating.

Nice-Roots and Wings-these eggs have hatched and I think the wings flutter in readiness for flight..But your story is good. She stands ready to tackle anything that may come along protecting her eggs.
Ravens-mystery surrounds things. Has she used magic? I bet-a magical doll.

We should all heed that advice. Give our children a firm background and a place to always call home but supply them with wings, mental wings, that will take and allow them to go as far as their hearts allow. I love roots and wings and the adorable doll that you used to represent that thought.

Hello my friend, so sorry I haven't commented on your blog lately. But that doesn't mean I haven't seen all your gorgeous Art Dolls. You really have found your niche' and I am in awe of how many different Art Dolls you are able to come up with day after day. How's your back? I hope it's okay with all the fabulous artwork you've been doing. I've had a hard winter as you know and my knee has been giving me trouble. I don't know if you've noticed but I haven't done a post since March 17th. Can you believe that? I've really been bad and I need to get back in stride. I actually had a lady say that she wished I blogged more, which totally made me feel guilty and glad at the same time because she wanted me too. But I have been working on a special project for Helga at ArtChix. I just finished it. I should have some more free creative time now. Hugs to you, I hope all is well with you and the family?
