Hold Fast To Dreams

Sometimes life feels out of your control. Do you feel your art work is always something positive waiting for you. I have not had a lot of time for art creating this summer. When I do make time to sit at my desk, that is my special time.
The theme for this Character Constructions art paper doll is related to my children. She is hanging on tight to her nest but they are flying away. Sometimes it feels like parents are the one's learning and growing too.
Hold on to dreams.

Good Morning Laura,

Boy, I agree with your sentiments today! Take care, and continue to hold tight.

Hugs,
Meri

I feel the same way many times Laura.....but we have to remember they never fly to far, they are always in our hearts.

Laura; I love this and the message it conveys. Yes; I agree with you; we are so blessed to have our art in our lives. Something to turn to always through good and bad. We also try to hang on to our nests or the "eggs" in our nests. But; time dictates they must fly - but not too far like Sharon says. They are always in our hearts. Love never ends. That's the most eternal thing.xxoo PS I love your postal art below, too! Beautiful!

You always create something delicious to share with us on your blog Laura ...and some deep thoughts to go along with with it. When my children found their wings, I felt like I wanted to go right back into my egg and start all over again. But thank heavens I had my art nest to retreat to.

I love your art dolls, and I love the stories that go with them. My children are only 7 and 9, but they are at the stage where they want to play outside WITHOUT ME! And I have had trouble letting go, so I really agree with your sentiments today :-)

For me one of the best things about creating art is that it is always there no matter what else is going on! My kids are just learning to stretch their wings at 16, 14 and 11.....and some of it makes me SO proud, and sometimes it makes me too wish to retreat back to the egg...but no matter what, the art is always there waiting. And as always, your work is stunning!

What a lovely, lovely piece! *sigh* It's just beautiful!

I have been long overdue for a visit. Kind of hiding in work to avoid trying to feel normal after my dad died. But, I'm feeling better and taking a peek at the rest of the world and what a lovely place to peek tonight! I've missed your gorgeous work and dolls. I'm off to dream with them a bit more! Hope you are well!
